In response to several interactions we’ve had recently, we are here to remind our clients and community of some extremely important points. We have seen similarly written posts from other veterinary hospitals, and we are disappointed that we also must chime in and urge our clients to be respectful and understanding of our time.
Our CSR team is doing their best to help you get your pets seen. They are responsible for looking out for you and your pet, as well as the wellbeing of our entire clinic. If they suggest you take your pet elsewhere, know that they are heartbroken to refer you. This recommendation just means we have already stretched ourselves as thin as we can. No one on our staff deserves the rude comments and backlash they are receiving while simply doing their job.
We are working harder than ever to ensure each pet is given proper medical treatment. We do apologize that we frequently cannot accommodate same day services for routine or elective care. Our appointments are currently booking out 2 weeks, even 3 in certain circumstances. We already have limited spaces saved for our patients that become sick unexpectedly and need same day attention, and its important to us to keep those available.
We have reminder services in place that should alert you several times, starting several weeks before your pet has vaccines and medical needs to be addressed. It is crucial that you call to schedule those appointments as soon as you can to avoid their care becoming overdue. With that being said, if you DO NOT currently receive reminders from our system, we are happy to correct that.
We are often seeing 50+ patients in a day. Last Monday, we saw 51 patients between the hours of 8:40am and 5:00pm. When we do the math, that gives our medical team less than 10 minutes with each of those patients. We hope that our clients do not feel their appointments are being rushed or slighted, but sometimes we do feel that way on our end. Our staff members are missing their breaks as well as time with their families to be here for you, and we will not allow our team to sacrifice any more.
Now, more than ever, it is important to be kind to the workers in our community. People are leaving their professions everywhere at an alarming rate. We are thankful for the staff members we have available to you and your family, but we will not stand for them being treated poorly. We cannot afford to lose anymore skilled and valuable veterinary professionals due to lack of kindness. So please, do your part in helping us keep our clinic running smoothly, and know we are all doing our very best too.
